Cinenomics is an independent Indian box-office analytics and film-history project. It brings together cinema data from roughly the 1960s through 2026: daily and weekly collections, territory figures, India and worldwide gross, film verdicts, and people and credits. The aim is to make a large, useful historical record easier to explore while being honest about what the numbers can—and cannot—say.
We aggregate information from multiple public sources, including film-industry trackers, published reports, and other publicly available material. We cross-check records where possible and retain original values or context when reports disagree; we do not silently overwrite a conflicting report and pretend there was only one answer. Because Indian box office has no official public register and is not publicly audited, the figures on this site are estimates. See the Data Disclaimer for the full explanation.
These are editorial/computed views, not official industry ratings. The verdicts methodology page explains the thresholds and assumptions in more detail.
The database is still being improved. Ongoing work includes filling gaps in posters, biographies, budgets, synopses, credits, territory collections, and historical worldwide figures, while improving source notes and consistency. New information can change a record, chart, or ranking.
The roadmap includes broader historical coverage, more complete day-wise and territory data, clearer source provenance, and richer comparisons across eras and industries. If you have a correction, source, licensing question, or suggestion, please reach out — we review corrections and update records where warranted.
